Michael Bradley gives U.S. draw with Panama

The tournament is being held all over the USA, and the men are set to play Panama on Monday night in Kansas City in their final match of the group stages.

The American equalizer came in The 55th minute when clever U.S. interplay culminated with Bedoya picking out Bradley with a low cross in the penalty area.

The Yanks didn’t need a win to advance to the Gold Cup quarterfinals, but Alejandro Bedoya crossed to a streaking Michael Bradley to lift the U.S.to a positive result against Panama.

At the luxurious Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kansas, the aperitif in an evening of football was a match between upstarts Haiti and a struggling Honduras, playing to a 1-0 win for the Caribbean side.

Panama had a good chance to regain the lead in the 75th minute, but Guzan laid out to slap away a shot by Miguel Camargo, who had entered as a second-half substitute.

With Panama pressing high, the USA found it hard to get out of its own half and the Central Americans deservedly hit the front through Perez in the 34th minute.

Haiti, meanwhile, advanced to the knockout phase by beating Honduras 1-0 courtesy of a Duckens Nazon goal. Though they did well to battle to a 1-1 draw in a rematch of the 2013 final, their fate will be determined by action in the other two groups.

Les Grenadiers started like a bolt, threatening the Honduran goal inside of ninety seconds to force a save out of Donis Escober.

Honduras had their best chance to equalise shortly before the hour mark but Erick Andino’s shot doesn’t get passed Johny Placide and 1-nil is how it stays.

The United States are through to the knockout rounds of the Gold Cup after just two group games. It had reached the semifinals in four of the past five tournaments.
