A Cat receives the 33rd Annual National Hero Dog Award


A 7-year-old feline was given the 33rd Annual National Hero Dog Award this week subsequent to sparing her owner’s child by battling off a neighbor’s pooch.

Tara, a dark-striped cat from Bakersfield, California, has won an honor that so routinely goes to that other sort of pet. This time, the Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles needed to scratch out “Dog,” and engraving “Cat” on the trophy.

The puppy from adjacent had crawled up on Tara’s proprietor 4-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo as he played on his bicycle in the carport. The gatecrasher braced his teeth into Jeremy’s leg and started to drag him. Tara dashed to the salvage, body-pummeled the canine, and pursued him off the scene.

Jeremy required eight lines in his leg, and says of Tara,

“She is my saviour.”
