Seahawks agree to terms with backup QB Tarvaris Jackson

An addition of Vick would likely be taken in stride by Wilson, like everything else, as he seems comfortable knowing that his big payday is just only a matter of time. If the Seahawks cannot get Jackson under contract, Vick would make for a good backup to Wilson.

Jackson’s other options had completely dried up though. He is a safety net, a trusted mind who knows and understands what coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell want from the position. Which teams might be interested in signing him? In 55 NFL regular-season games, Jackson has completed 636-of-1,067 passes for 7,226 yards, 39 touchdowns and 35 interceptions. But there is some comfort in having a backup so familiar with both the playbook and the personnel in case that does happen.

Seattle has gotten by with Wilson and ex- arena-league player R.J.

Seattle believes that the defense has something to do about the success, going to two Super Bowls in two years, but the Seahawks understand the importance of Russell Wilson, who is at the center of those successes. ESPN’s John Clayton suggests Michael Vick could also be a target, but Vick and Jackson are represented by the same agent. It’s open to the media, the last one that will be, and we’ll be there to cover it all.

“In his absence, the Seahawks didn”™t have many options.
